Total Closure of U.S. 59 at Oyster Creek Bridge Begins Tomorrow

(SUGAR LAND) - The Texas Department of Transportation plans to close all northbound and southbound main lanes of U.S. Highway 59 at the Oyster Creek Bridge on Dec. 8 at 10 p.m. through Dec. 11 at 5 a.m.

These closures are necessary to finalize traffic configurations as TxDOT continues work on their reconstruction project on the main lanes of the HWY 59 bridge at Oyster Creek. Detours will be as follows:

  • Southbound traffic will exit to the frontage road towards HWY 6 and allowed to re-enter HWY59 before HWY 6.

  • Northbound traffic will exit to the frontage road towards Williams Trace Blvd. and allowed to re-enter HWY59 before Williams Trace Blvd.

Motorists are asked to be mindful of work crews, expect traffic delays, and when possible, avoid the area to prevent traffic congestion.

Project updates are available on TxDOT's project website.
