Richmond Commission Denies Williams Ranch Business Park Preliminary Plat

(RICHMOND) - The City of Richmond’s Commission has denied a Preliminary Plat for the proposed Williams Ranch Business Park. The proposed site is 73.295 acres of land located along the north side of Highway 59 and to the south of Williams Ranch and east of Del Webb residential subdivisions and sits outside of the City of Richmond’s city limits but in the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction and West Fort Bend Management District.

The Williams Ranch Business Park was proposed to be developed as light industrial, multi-building warehouses with commercial office space and residential multi-family units. The proposed project planned to extend Andado Lane to U.S. Highway 59.

The denial was attributed to “insufficient buffers and concerns of traffic incompatibility and possible light, noise and air pollution to the surrounding neighborhoods.”

“All governments should be concerned about the health and safety of all the residents,” said Commissioner Barry Beard.

The City of Richmond does not regulate zoning and/or land use restrictions for properties in the ETJ, though any development will be required to meet all current and adopted codes for City of Richmond ETJ properties.
