Richmond Commission Approves Contract for Morton Street Parking Extension Project

(RICHMOND) - The Richmond Commission has awarded a construction services contract for $240,000 to Elite Construction and Engineering for the Morton Street parking extension project in downtown Richmond.

This phase I parking project will provide additional parking spaces and include an enclosure for a dumpster for some land-locked merchants who will participate in the cost for the service. Additionally, the project will provide new concrete paving as well as brick pavers at the Second St. entrance and wheelchair ramps.

This project provides much needed downtown parking and is the first phase of a multi-phase approach for additional parking in downtown Richmond. This project follows the Comprehensive Master Plan to enhance the existing community and promote growth.
