(FORT BEND COUNTY) - Mike Khan will be holding a kickoff reception to formally announce his candidacy for Fort Bend County Commissioner, Precinct 3. The event is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the Hampton Inn Sugar Land, 218 Promenade Way.
Khan, recently appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Board of Directors of the Brazos River Authority, is a community leader and business owner, who has served in many roles of leadership in Fort Bend County. He is a 25-year resident of Precinct 3, which was recently redistricted from Precinct 4.
Khan is the owner and founder of Radio Dabang 99.5 FM in Houston, among other businesses.
“I have been involved in countless charitable causes in an attempt to give back to my community and help those around me,” he said. “Having lived with my family in Fort Bend County for over 20 years and having made the various contributions to my state and city, the very sense of purpose and drive which helped me realize the American Dream has brought me here.”
Khan says that as he prepares to officially step into the race, he invites the community to join him at the upcoming event, and to be a part of his journey towards “further enhancing the quality of life in Precinct 3."
