(SUGAR LAND) - Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library will present “The Truth About Scams: How Con-Artists Use Psychology Against You” – a program in the Senior Series for older adults and their family members -- on Friday, Oct. 21, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, in Meeting Room 1 of the library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.
Liz McNeel, a senior real-estate specialist and certified senior-housing professional, will talk about the ways con artists use the Internet, cell phones, and email to target unsuspecting victims. Seniors will learn about some of the most common scams, as well as the psychology behind the most effective scams. Those attending will get tips on ways to protect themselves and their family members from becoming the next victim.
