Large Gas Leak Reported in Katy

(KATY) – The City of Katy Office of Emergency Management is reporting a large gas leak on 1st Street near Bluebonnet St. as of 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The Katy Fire Department is on scene monitoring air conditions. The Katy Police Department is blocking traffic on 1st between Carnation St. and Aster St. and traffic traveling south on Bluebonnet St. towards 1st. CenterPoint Energy is on location and beginning repairs to the leak.

Residents should avoid the area if possible.
