(FORT BEND COUNTY) – Fort Bend County Fire Marshal Mark Flathouse has resigned from his position effective March 3. Flathouse also served and the county’s emergency management coordinator. He has served as fire marshal since 2013.
Fort Bend County Commissioners Court has appointed Justin Jurek as interim fire marshal through March 3, and authorized the county’s human resources department to begin a search for a permanent replacement for Flathouse. Jurek was the assistant chief of investigations and inspections for the Fire Marshal’s Office.
Greg Babst has been named interim emergency management coordinator.
