(RICHMOND) – Residents of Richmond may have noticed the recent installation of trees and landscaping along Richmond area roadways. This is the result of the Texas Department of Transportation’s partnership with the City of Richmond and Fort Bend County to provide more ornamental landscaping than what the standard TxDOT reforestation provides.
The reforestation partnership encompasses IH-69/ US 59 at Grand Parkway, at Richmond Parkway, and at FM 762. FM 359 at Hwy 90-A received new landscaping as well due to TxDOT’s Green Ribbon landscape funding.
As construction of the various mobility projects near completion, partnership steps are executed from design concepts, irrigation, construction, and installation to maintenance of these reforestation projects. All corridors now have trees and shrubbery planted to provide visual character and beautify these streetscapes.
