(KATY) - The City of Katy is asking residents and businesses to help with water conservation. City officials say drought conditions are getting to a critical stage with no substantial rainfall since the end of May.
“We are needing HOAs, commercial businesses, and residents to please reduce irrigating, as water reports are showing that the majority usage of water is from irrigation,” city representatives posted on social media today. “The city is asking for everyone to participate in conserving water, it will take everyone to make a difference.”
Katy City Council is holding a special meeting today to discuss a resolution requesting the West Harris County Regional Water Authority to provide surface water as well as to discuss an ordinance amending the city’s drought contingency plan. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 5:30 at Katy City Hall, 901 Ave. C.
