Burn Ban Issued for Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY) - A burn ban has been issued in Fort Bend County due to “severe drought conditions, above average heat, low humidity, low fuel moistures and high winds that are creating dangerous wildfire conditions that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning,” according to the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal’s Office.

The local prohibition of outdoor burning will continue until rescinded or until a determination is made by the Texas Forest Service that drought conditions no longer exist. The ban cannot continue for more than 90 days without the consent of Commissioner’s Court.
