Woman Arrested After Allegedly Using Counterfeit Money to Purchase Items from Online Sellers

(SUGAR LAND) – Sugar Land police have arrested a Houston resident for allegedly committing fraud and using counterfeit money in Sugar Land.
According to police, Jennifer Portillo would contact sellers on social media and agree to purchase various items for sale. Portillo would meet with the sellers and pay using counterfeit $100 bills and requesting change, said police.
The sellers would later realize the $100 bill was counterfeit. Portillo has been arrested and is currently in the Fort Bend County Jail, according to police.
