Phone Scammers Impersonating Stafford Police Department

(STAFFORD) – The Stafford Police Department has received several calls from residents saying they have received calls that appear to be coming from the Stafford Police Department. The residents say when they answer the phone, they are told they either have a warrant or are a suspect in a crime.

Stafford police say if a resident receives one of these phone calls asking for personal information, they should hang up immediately and call the Stafford Police Department at 281-261-3950.

“This is a scam,” police said. “Please do not fall victim.”
