FORT BEND COUNTY) - Fort Bend County Social Services has partnered with Fort Bend Family YMCA for Operation Backpack. New and unused backpacks and school supplies will be collected from Wednesday, June 15 through Friday, July 15.
Donations can be dropped off at the Richmond Fire Department Headquarters, 200 Houston St. in Richmond, or at Rosenberg fire stations at 4335 Highway 36 S., 1021 Fourth Street, 5320 Reading Road or 6226 August Green. Donations can also be dropped off at the Fort Bend County Social Services office at 4520 Reading Suite A-900 in Rosenberg.
For 18 years, Operation Backpack has provided school supplies for children in communities across the Houston area. The YMCA specifically noted a need for backpacks, as their funding was reduced this year due to the pandemic.
