Meadows Place Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting in Stafford

(FORT BEND COUNTY) – A 26-year-old Meadows Place man has been arrested after an early morning fatal shooting at a Stafford taqueria on Aug. 6. Following an investigation by the Stafford Police Department, a warrant for manslaughter was issued for Jacob Benazouz, who turned himself in Aug. 10.

Benazouz is currently in the Fort Bend County Jail with a $150,000 bond.


According to Stafford police, around 2:36 a.m. Aug. 6 police were called to the 12400 block of the U.S. 59 feeder road in reference to a shots fired call. When police arrived at Brenda’s Taqueria, witnesses told officers that there was an altercation between two groups of people that led to gunfire.


Officers learned that both groups arrived separately but knew each other.

the business. He was identified as 26-year-old Houston resident Jarius LeBlanc. LeBlanc was allegedly part of one of the groups involved in the altercation and ran from the business when the shooting was occurring.
