(MISSOURI CITY) - A Houston man accused of burglarizing a Missouri City residence has been arrested by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18 around 2:26 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call related to an in-progress home burglary in the 6000 block of Lamb Creek located in the Sienna subdivision in Missouri City. The caller reportedly just arrived home with young children, where they were startled by an unknown man found inside the home. The suspect fled the residence carrying property belonging to the resident.
The 911 caller provided a detailed description of the burglary suspect and his direction of travel to dispatchers, who in turn provided this information to responding deputies. Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies arrived in the area, where a man matching the description was found and detained. The suspect was found to be in possession of stolen items from the victim’s residence and identified as Michael Lewis Martin Jr., 37, of Houston.
Martin was placed into custody and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail for charges including burglary of a habitation and failure to identify. Martin also has an unrelated Harris County arrest warrant for failure to register as a sex offender, with bond pending. His bond for burglary of habitation and failure to Identify is set at $50,000 and $5,000, respectively.
The case is under investigation by Fort Bend Sheriff’s detectives.
