(FORT BEND ISD) – Fort Settlement Middle School student Sophia Li won the 2023 Texas History Day T-shirt Contest.
Her winning design incorporated the 2023 National History Day theme “Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas” and a connection to Texas. Fort Settlement Middle School art teacher Donna Pierce encouraged Li to enter the contest.
Li will be recognized at the Texas History Day Awards Ceremony in Austin on April 15. She will receive $250 and a free T-shirt from AJL Advertising, and her design will be featured on the 2023 T-shirts at the state contest.
Li also won Best of Show for her art submission in this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Contest.
