(FORT BEND ISD) - Bush and Kempner high schools have advanced in the UIL One Act Play competition and will participate in the 6A and 5A regional contest, respectively. Both schools placed first in their area contests and are among the top 24 programs in the state.
Both contests will be held at San Jacinto College’s Central Campus, 8060 Spencer Hwy. in Pasadena, with the 5A competition starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 21 and the 6A competition starting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.
In addition to the programs advancing to regional competition, individual students were honored at the area contests, including:
6A Best Performer: Theresa Ezeani (Bush) and Marjorie Kalule (Bush) All-Star Cast: Angel Harris (Bush) and Sean Stegall (Bush) All-Star Technician Award: Jasmine Stevens (Bush)
5A Best Performer: Isabella Fish (Kempner) All-Star Cast: Faraz Mobil (Kempner) Honorable Mention All-Star Cast: Miles Tanner (Kempner) and Lulani Maya (Kempner) Best Overall Crew: Kempner High School All-Star Technical Award: Sofia Claros (Kempner)
