FBISD Leaders Spreading ‘Holiday Cheer’ This Week

(FORT BEND ISD) - Fort Bend ISD’s Executive Leadership Team donned their best elves-wear this morning to once again bring joy to a FBISD family in need.

The executive leaders known as “E-Team,” delivered carloads of presents such as housewares, bedding, food, clothing and treats to a local family of nine. Sponsors donated the items to the district’s Shared Dreams program, which is part of the Collaborative Communities Department.

To preserve anonymity, the presents are loaded up by volunteers and taken to the school where the recipient family’s child or children attend and from there, school administrators give the gifts to the family.

Not only did E-Team volunteer to deliver the Kempner High School family’s presents, but the leaders also acted as sponsors by buying gifts for a different family based at another school. They purchased items that a student in need wrote on their wish list. This is the second year that district leaders have volunteered to be both a delivery team and sponsors.

A total of 200 students in need spread across 57 FBISD campuses are receiving wish list gifts for their families as part of this year’s “Holiday Cheer” program. More than 40 individuals and groups purchased gifts as sponsors. FBISD’s Holiday Cheer tradition has been going strong for 18 years now.
