Daniels Announced as Principal of Katy ISD's Bethke Elementary

(KATY ISD) – Katy Independent School District has announced the appointment of Thomas Daniels as the principal of Bethke Elementary. Daniels officially assumed his role Dec. 12.  


Daniels has a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University. His experience in education includes being recognized as the 2016-17 Teacher of the Year, being a Chick-Fil-A Teacher of the Year Nominee, a recipient of the Katy ISD Foundation Grant, and a member of the Katy ISD Connected Learner Cohort. 


Daniels has held key leadership roles, including his current position as Assistant Principal at Beckendorff Junior High since 2021. In this capacity, he has supervised 6th and 7th grades, served as the Safety Liaison, led CAT meetings, and played a crucial role in mentorship, and positive behavioral interventions and supports initiatives.  


Prior to his role at Beckendorff, Daniels served as Assistant Principal at Stephens Elementary from 2017 to 2021. During this time, he supervised PK-5 and various special education programs, taking on responsibilities as the Safety Liaison, 504 Coordinator, and ARD Facilitator. Daniels has also contributed to the educational community as a Summer School Assistant Principal at Memorial Parkway in 2023 and 2017-2018. 


"I am thrilled to join Bethke Elementary and work collaboratively with the dedicated staff, students, and parents to create an environment that fosters the growth of every individual. I am committed to carrying out the school's vision and mission, ensuring that each student reaches their fullest potential academically, socially, and emotionally,” Daniels said.

Dr. Ken Gregorski, Superintendent of Schools, commented on Mr. Daniels' appointment, saying, "I am confident that Mr. Daniels' passion for education, leadership experience, and commitment to student achievement will have a positive impact on Bethke students and school community. We look forward to the continued success of the school under his direction."
