City of Richmond to Host Document Shred and Electronic Recycling Event

(RICHMOND) -Keep Richmond Beautiful, GFL Environmental and the City of Richmond are partnering for this year’s Spring Document Shred and Electronic Recycle Event. The event will be held on Saturday, April 15, to offer free document shredding and electronic recycling at City Hall, 402 Morton St., from 9 a.m. to noon for residents who receive a utility bill from the City of Richmond.


Pro Shred Security, sponsored by Keep Richmond Beautiful, will be available to shred documents onsite. ID is required; participants should bring their City of Richmond water bill stub for identification purposes. This is a drive-thru event. Participants should stay in their car and place all items in the trunk. Keep Richmond Beautiful volunteers will unload participant’s trunks.


What can you bring?

All paper, file folders, hanging files, notepads, envelopes, CD’s and DVD’s. No need to remove staples, paperclips, fasteners or rubber bands. No 3-Ring Binders accepted. For more information on the document shred event, contact Keep Richmond Beautiful Chair Pat Pittman at 281-344-9432.


R.A.K.I Computers Recycling, sponsored by GFL Environmental, will provide a truck for electronics which will be transported to R.A.K.I.’s Houston facility for recycling.

Laptop batteries, radio equipment, cellphones and telephones, televisions, hard drives, DVD/ CD/ VCR players, stereo equipment, medical equipment, projectors, lab equipment, lithium batteries, lead acid batteries, circuit boards, monitors, LCD’s, LED’s, keyboards, speakers, video/ audio equipment, IT hardware, cables and wires as well as other items you can find listed at www.rakicomp.com.
