Brothers Arrested, Charged in Sugar Land Shooting

(SUGAR LAND) – Two brothers have been arrested following a shooting at a Mod Pizza in Sugar Land.

The Sugar Land Police Department responded to a shooting at Mod Pizza, 19820 Southwest Freeway, just after 7 p.m. on April 9. The caller told police two men were arguing, and one shot the other in the leg outside the restaurant. The injured man was transported by ground to a hospital in downtown Houston.

Witnesses told police the shooter left with another man and provided a vehicle description. The vehicle was located at a house in the 2100 block of Canyon Crest Drive. It was determined that the owner of the vehicle lived at the house, and SLPD later confirmed the shooter was in the house. A perimeter was established, but police were unable to immediately establish contact with anyone inside.

Hours later, contact was made with occupants inside the home, and a child and the child's grandmother exited the house. At about 6:30 a.m. this morning, April 10, the shooter and the man who drove the getaway car exited the house and were placed in custody. No one was injured. A third person inside the house, believed to be a relative of the shooter, also exited with the two men. The relative had no involvement in the shooting.

Jordan Kilpatrick, 31, the shooter, was charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony. Christian Alexander Kilpatrick, 34, the driver, was charged with robbery, a second degree felony. Both are brothers who live at the house on Canyon Crest Drive.
