(SUGAR LAND) - Applications for the Sugar Land Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy are now open. The Citizen's Police Academy is an opportunity to take an inside look at the Sugar Land Police Department. Students are introduced to all aspects of law enforcement, including police department structure, criminal scene investigations (CSI: Sugar Land), patrol procedures, traffic laws and traffic stops and active shooter situation response.
Classes start Aug. 25. The class meets every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and includes a graduation ceremony and one Saturday morning class.
