Students Create Mannequins to Display at Sugar Land Heritage Museum’s Dia De Los Muertos Exhibit

(FORT BEND ISD) – Fort Bend ISD’s cosmetology students designed and created mannequins to display at the Sugar Land Heritage Museum’s annual Dia de los Muertos exhibit.

Dia de los Muertos is a Hispanic heritage holiday where families and friends gather to pay respects and remember loved ones who have died.

Cosmetology students who attend the Reese Career and Technical Center designed makeup and dressings for the mannequins that are representative of the Hispanic heritage.

In addition to art from local students, the exhibit contains altars created by local families to commemorate their ancestors who lived in the Sugar Land community.

The exhibit will be on display to the public through Nov. 5 at the Sugar Land Heritage Museum, 198 Kempner Street in Sugar Land. For additional information, visit www.slheritage.org.
