Keep Richmond Beautiful and City of Richmond to Host Free Document Shred Event

(RICHMOND) – Keep Richmond Beautiful and the City of Richmond will hold a free document shred event from 9 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Oct. 15, at City Hall, 402 Morton Street. The event is available to Richmond residents, ID is required as well as a City of Richmond water bill.

All paper, file folders, hanging files, notepads, envelopes, CD’s/DVD’s, tax returns, bank statements, credit applications, credit reports and closing documents will all be accepted. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips, fasteners or rubber bands. Three-ring binders are not accepted.


For drive-through service all shredding material should be placed in the trunk clearly marked to be shred. If carboard boxes are used to bring documents, they will be returned once empty. Volunteers will remove the documents from the car.
