FBISD’s Career and Technical Education Students Holding Event to Benefit Student-Run Businesses

(FORT BEND ISD) – Fort Bend ISD’s Career and Technical Education student-run businesses – The Shop, The Salon and The Grill – will be open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the James Reese Career and Technical Center, 12300 University Blvd. in Sugar Land.

The Grill at The Reese Center – Culinary arts students will serve a variety of coffee blends and homemade breakfast breads. Patrons can dine-in or carry out orders. Only credit card payments can be accepted. The Shop at The Reese Center – Transportation students will provide state inspections, oil changes and tire rotations and balancing. Schedule services now. The Salon at The Reese Center – Cosmetology students will provide manicures and pedicures. Only credit card payments can be accepted. Schedule services now. FBISD’s CTE Department holds events the second Saturday of each month to spotlight the district’s student-run businesses that are open during the week. The businesses provide students real-world experience and offers community members services at reasonable rates. Students operate the businesses under the supervision of lab managers; services offered increase in complexity throughout the school year as students gain additional knowledge and skills.
